Pakistan has emerged as a key diplomatic hub as it prepares to host direct negotiations between the United States and Iran in Islamabad, aimed at achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.

According to official sources, high-level delegations from both countries are expected to arrive in Islamabad on Friday. The Iranian delegation will be led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the United States delegation will include Vice President J.D. Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner.

A spokesperson for the White House confirmed that President Donald Trump has approved sending a negotiation team to Pakistan. The first round of talks is scheduled to take place on Saturday, marking a significant step toward de-escalation following recent tensions.

Reports suggest that Iran has indicated a willingness to discuss uranium-related matters, raising hopes for progress in nuclear negotiations and broader regional stability.

In light of the high-profile visits, authorities have implemented strict security measures across Islamabad. The Red Zone has been completely sealed off for private vehicles, and heavy traffic entry into the city has been restricted. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel in and around sensitive areas.

Additionally, the government has declared public holidays on Thursday and Friday in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Government offices, including courts and the Election Commission, will remain closed, with officials instructed to work from home.

Traffic police have also issued advisories regarding diversions, particularly on the Express Highway, to ensure smooth movement of foreign delegations.

The talks are being closely watched worldwide as a potential breakthrough toward long-term peace in the region.
